Mashantucket Tribe refutes complaint by dealers

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut says a complaint by casino dealers lacks merit and should be dismissed.

Dealers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino accused the tribe of denying them a share of tips earned at the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods. The new facility opened in May.

The complaint was filed with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Gaming Commission but the tribe says the commission lacks jurisdiction to resolve the matter. The tribe says the issue belongs in tribal court.

Dealers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino have organized with the United Auto Workers union.
