Grand Traverse Band to improve casino roads

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians will use $2.2 million in federal funds to improve roads at its casino.

The tribe is using its Indian Reservation Road money to fund the project. Roads around the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa will be repaved, lighted and landscaped.

The tribe says it has discretion to decide how to use Bureau of Indian Affairs funds.
