Saginaw Chippewa Tribe to cut casino employees

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan is reducing the size of the workforce at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort.

The tribe is offering voluntary buy-outs to all full-time employees. Layoffs are possible after the buy-outs are complete.

“We realize the same economic conditions which are affecting the national economy and the gaming industry are also taking their toll on the Soaring Eagle,” Tribal Chief Fred Cantu, Jr. said, The Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun reported.

The tribe did not say how many jobs it plans to eliminate.
