Gila River Tribe awards $250K in gaming grants

The Gila River Indian Community of Arizona awarded $250,000 in gaming grants to local organizations and government agencies.

The tribe gave $100,000 to the St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance as part of a three-year $300,000 grant to fight hunger.

Another $125,000 went to the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department to restore a building at Steele Indian School Park.

Finally, nearly $26,000 went to the Phoenix Family Advocacy Center to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other crimes.
