The Seminole Tribe and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) have proposed revisions to the Class III gaming compact that has been the subject of debate.

The tribe says it will share $1.1 billion in gaming revenues in the next two years. But the tribe wouldn't make any payments in the third year and only a small amount in the fourth year.

After that, the tribe would share revenues based on a percentage of the profits from slot machines and table games. According to news reports, the revenue sharing rate could go as high as 25 percent.

The deal counters proposals that have been under consideration in the Florida Legislature. The House wants to restrict the tribe to slot machines while the Senate is proposing a broad expansion of all types of gaming in the state.
