Dispute over Pokagon gaming revenues finally ends

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians can finally distribute over $6.2 million in gaming revenues with the local community.

The Michigan tribe agreed to share revenues from the Four Winds Casino with local agencies. But the Pokagon-New Buffalo Area Local Revenue Sharing Board was unable to come up with a distribution formula for the last 20 months.

“Everybody is going to get a little piece of the pie and we’re going to get it done quickly," said Matt Wesaw, who represents the tribe on the board, WNDU-TV reported.

The board unanimously passed a revenue distribution formula on Tuesday.
