New Mexico tribal gaming revenues on decline

Gamblers in New Mexico are spending less at tribal casinos, the Gaming Control Board said reported.

The 14 tribes with casinos don't disclose their revenues. But the "net win" at tribal facilities fell 1.2 percent in the first half of 2009, the board reported.

Net win is defined as the amount wagered on slot machines minus payouts and regulatory fees. This is the first time since 2002 that the net win has fallen.

Despite the drop, tribes shared$32 million with the state in the first half of the year.
