New Mexico tribes saw slight growth in gaming

Tribes in New Mexico saw a slight increase in slot machine revenues last year, according to the state's Gaming Control Board.

The "net win" at tribal casinos reached $710,191,501 in 2008, up from $700,330,214 in 2007. That was up 1.5 percent -- much smaller than the double-digit gains the tribes saw between 2002 and 2007.

Non-Indian race tracks fared better, according to the state board. Their revenues increased 9.2 percent last year.
