Mashantucket Tribe vows Kansas casino in 2010

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut says it can have a casino in Kansas up and running by 2010, The New London Day reports.

Foxwoods Development Co.. submitted a bid to the Kansas Lotteryto operate a state-owned casino in Sumner County. The Chisholm Creek Casino Resort would feature 2,000 slot machines, 50 table games and other amenities, an executive said.

”It's essentially the same project, but now we're proposing to build it in phases,” president Gary Armentrout said, referring to the tribe's bid last year.

The tribe was one of three bidders for the casino.
