Menominee Nation drops off-reservation casino suit

The Menominee Nation of Wisconsin has dropped a lawsuit seeking approval of its off-reservation casino.

The tribe will continue to pursue the casino in Kenosha, just not in court, a spokesperson said. It's possible the lawsuit could be filed again.

The Bush administration rejected the casino in January, saying the site was too far from the reservation. The decision was based on a controversial "guidance memorandum" that tribes are hoping President Barack Obama will withdraw.
