The United Auburn Indian Community of California restarted work on an expansion of the Thunder Valley Casino.
The tribe started work last year but halted it amid the downturn in the economy. The project were downscaled in response.
"It meets the market demand, and it saves a lot of money," spokesperson Doug Elmets told The Lincoln News Messenger.
Elmets wouldn't say how much the 15-story hotel, seven-story parking structure and a 10,000-square-foot multipurpose room will cost. The project will be finished in June 2010.
