Soo Tribe weighs options for commercial casino

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians could give up ownership of its commercial casino in Michigan under bankruptcy plan before a federal judge.

The tribe is the majority owner of the Greektown Casino-Hotel. That would change under the bankruptcy plan, which awards control to creditor Merrill Lynch.

"The tribe will look at any options that will benefit its members and make sense in this business environment," spokesperson Roger Martin told The Detroit News.

The casino entered bankruptcy proceedings last year.
