Investors cut Mashpee Wampanoag money

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts is no longer receiving money from casino investors, vice chairman Aaron Tobey said.

The tribe signed an agreement with Sol Kerzner and Len Wolman to build a casino in the town of Middleboro. But after tribal leaders voted to pursue a new deal, “nothing’s been resolved," Tobey told The Brockton Enterprise.

The investors, though, have continued to make payments to the town for casino planning and infrastructure. Tobey said the tribe stands behind its land-into-trust application for the project.
