Little Traverse Bay Bands working on casino debt

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians of Michigan continues to negotiate with lenders over $122 million on casino-related debt.

Chairman Ken Harrington expected an agreement by December 15 but it appears one won't be reached until next month. “We’re at the tail end of the operation,” he told The Petoskey News-Review.

The tribe missed a $6.3 million interest payment in August. Last month, the general manger of the Odawa Casino Resort resigned, and Harrington wants to slow down the hiring process while debt negotiations continue.
