Cherokee Nation to start construction on another casino

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma will break ground this Thursday on another casino.

The 10,000 square-foot casino is located in Ramona, about 30 miles north of Tulsa. It's the tribe's eighth casino.

"We have proven that our gaming operations are an asset to the communities in which we reside," said David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Entertainment, KTUL-TV reported. "The city of Ramona recognizes this and has been a very welcoming and great partner to work with."

The casino is expected to open in early summer.
