Pinoleville Pomo Nation to start casino work next year

After winning state approval of its Class III gaming compact, Pinoleville Pomo Nation of California expects to start construction on its first casino next year.

The tribe plans a $50 million, 90,000 square-foot casino on 8.8 acres. The land is not in trust but the project manager says it's within the original rancheria boundaries.

The compact allows the tribe to offer up to 900 slot machines in exchange for sharing 15 percent of annual net win revenues with the state.
