Mashantucket Tribe weighs options after casino deal fails

An attorney for the Foxwoods Casino Philadelphia in Pennsylvania said the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut and other investors were taken advantage of by gaming mogul Steve Wynn.

The tribe and its partners began talks with Wynn last October to take over the project. But Wynn suddenly withdrew last week for an unanticipated reason.

"We feel very much victimized," attorney Stephen A. Cozen told The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The tribe and its partners won a license from the state to build the facility. But the project has been met with numerous delays as the tribe has faced economic woes back in Connecticut.

Cozen said the partnership was evaluating its options in light of the latest development.
