Group files suit over Buena Vista Rancheria casino

An anti-casino group called Friends of Amador County says the Buena Vista Rancheria of Mewuk Indians of California can't use its original reservation for gaming.

The group says the people who occupied the 67-acre site are not a legitimate tribe. The lawsuit claims the National Indian Gaming Commission shouldn't have issued a favorable Indian lands opinion for the casino. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) is also named as a defendant.

The tribe has yet to start work on the casino but hopes it can be open sometime next year.
