La Jolla Band mum about casino plans with new gaming partner

The La Jolla Band of Mission Indians want to build a casino on its remote reservation in southern California but details are apparently hard to come by.

The tribe has entered into a management agreement with Panther Partners of Florida. Plans call for a 480,000 square-foot casino and hotel.

The tribe is seeking approval of the agreement from the National Indian Gaming Commission. But The San Diego Union-Tribune said Panther Partners failed to answer its phone.

The tribe was previously working with Nevada Gold but never built a casino.
