Lawmakers take up proposed compact with Seminole Tribe

Negotiators for the Seminole Tribe and the Florida Legislature reached a deal for a Class III gaming compact.

The five-year agreement authorizes slot machines at all seven of the tribe's casinos and table games at four casinos. The tribe would share $150 million with the state for the first two years, $233 million in the third and fourth years and $234 million in the final year.

The deal is subject to approval by the tribal council and the entire Legislature.
