Buena Vista Rancheria requests liquor license at casino

The Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians has asked the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for a liquor license.

The tribe plans to serve alcohol at the planned Flying Cloud Casino. The facility will be located on the reservation.

The Amador County Board of Supervisors is opposing the request, citing safety concerns. But if the license is approved, the board said the tribe should be limited to alcohol at restaurants, lounges and an event center -- just not on the gaming floor.
