Dry Creek Band ties increase in sales to casino renovations

The Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians of California reported an increase in sales at the River Rock Casino.

The tribe said sales in the first quarter were $32.3 million. That's up 3 percent from the same period last year.

CEO David Fendrick linked the increase to a $5.5 million renovation project at the casino. The tribe redesigned the gaming floor and added a poker room and other amenities.

The tribe still plans to build a new resort once the economy improves.
