City will sell land for Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe casino for $21M

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe will pay $21 million for a gaming site under a contract being proposed by the development authority in Fall River, Massachusetts.

The tribe plans to build a casino on 300 acres in the city. The site is reportedly being added to a pending land-into-trust application at the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The proposed contract hasn't been made public. But the chairman of the city's development authority said it would require the tribe to comply with certain local, state and federal laws, particularly environmental and labor laws.
