NIGC chooses Paxton Myers, Eastern Cherokee, as chief of staff

Paxton Myers, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina, has been named the new chief of staff at the National Indian Gaming Commission.

Myers recently served as the Native American Affairs Advisor. for Rep. Dale Kildee (D-Michigan), the co-chair of the House Native American Caucus. He also worked for his tribe in governmental and gaming capacities.

“Paxton brings a diverse and practical background with him to the NIGC," said NIGC Chairwoman Tracie Stevens.
