Caesar's Entertainment interested in Rhode Island casino option

Caesar's Entertainment wants to build a casino in Rhode Island, although working with the Narragansett Tribe might not be the easiest option, a top executive said.

Jan Jones, the senior vice president of government relations and communications for Caesar's, told The Providence Journal that the land-into-trust process is complex and time consuming. "Let’s look back in the last five years. How many tribes have you seen actually take land into trust and have it approved and built?" she said.

"Maybe one or two," Jones told the paper.

In 2006, the tribe worked with Harrah's Entertainment on a casino that voters rejected. Caesar's purchased Harrah's last year.
