Little Traverse Bay Bands drop gambling age from 21 to 19

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians of Michigan has lowered the legal gambling age from 21 to 19.

Chairman Ken Harrington signed the Waganakising Odawak Gaming Regulatory Statute into law. It allows younger patrons at the Odawa Casino Resort.

"The idea is to be aligned with our competitors across the bridge," he told The Petoskey News-Review, referring to the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, whose gambling age is 19.
