The Menominee Nation of Wisconsin says its off-reservation casino will create jobs and boost the economy.

Unemployment is high on the reservation and in Kenosha, where the tribe wants to build a casino. Gaming will generate 3,000 full-time jobs, the tribe says.

"We need that so much for our people, for the community of Kenosha, the numbers of unemployment. We're not the only ones in dire need of jobs," Vice Chair Myrna Warrington told WBAY-TV.

The tribe is getting another chance at the casino thanks to the Obama administration. But Gov. Scott Walker (R) will be able to veto the project.

"The administration will review each casino on a case-by-case basis," a spokesperson for the governor told WBAY. "Three major factors during that will be considered is the casino's regional impact, the amount of local consensus it has, and the consensus it has among tribes."
