Mississippi Choctaw casino generates $37.1M in a few months

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians says its new gaming facility generated revenues of $37.1 million in just six months.

The Bok Homa Casino opened in December 2010. It's projected to generate $55.2 million during the next fiscal year.

"The incredible success of Bok Homa and all of Pearl River Resort's operations are a tribute to the hardworking team of men and women who live and work right here in Mississippi, and who oversee our day-to-day operations," Gen. Paul Harvey, the president and chief executive officer of Pearl River Resort, told The Neshoba Democrat.

The casino is located in a community away from the main reservation.
