Mohegan Tribe committed to gaming site in Massachusetts

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is committed to its gaming site in Massachusetts, an executive said.

The tribe wants to build the Mohegan Sun Palmer in Palmer, in the western part of the state. Another town is making a casino pitch but the tribe isn't interested in moving sites.

“We are committed to Palmer and it is the only site we are pursuing in the commonwealth,” Mohegan Sun Vice President of Development Paul Brody told The Norwich Bulletin.

A bill to authorize three casinos failed to pass this year. One casino would be located in western Massachusetts.
