Rep. Bono Mack open to bill to legalize Internet gaming

Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-California) is open to sponsoring a bill to legalize Internet gaming but a spokesperson said no decisions have been made.

Bono Mack chairs the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade. Her district includes the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians and other tribes.

“Congresswoman Bono Mack simply said she is open to the idea,” spokesman Ken Johnson told The Palm Springs Desert Sun. “That said, the congresswoman does not have plans at this time to move any legislation through her subcommittee. There are a lot of people in our district she would want to consult with first.”

Most of the state's gaming tribes support Internet gaming of some form.
