First Nations looking to operate all casinos in Saskatchewan

All casinos in Saskatchewan should be operated by First Nations, a top Native leader said.

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority oversees six Native-run casinos. The province, through the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, operates two more.

"We think it's time, because of market saturation, that First Nations look at being the sole operator of all provincial casinos, " Guy Lonechild, the chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, told CBC News. "It's a model of success because of employment opportunities and wealth and sharing wealth."
