FBI raid at Mississippi Choctaw casino linked to chief's dealings

An FBI raid at a casino owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is being linked to the dealings of Beasley Denson, the tribe's chief.

WLBT-TV reports that Denson has been paying a company called Mercury Gaming in Atlanta $60,000 a month. The amount went up to $250,000 a month in February without the tribal council's knowledge, the station said.

Denson lost his election to Phyliss J. Anderson. But the results were thrown out an a new vote has been scheduled for September 6.
