Poarch Creeks to debut gaming facility in Florida this December

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama plan to open a $12 million gaming facility in Florida this December.

The facility will feature horse races and poker. It's the tribe's second gaming venture in Florida.

"It's a great site," Jay Dorris, president of Poarch Creek Indian Gaming, told The Mobile Press-Register. "We're 30 miles ... west of Tallahassee, and very easy access and visibility."

The facility is in Gretna, off a major interstate.
