The Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians in Wisconsin recently opened a new gaming facility.

The $23.5 million Legendary Waters Resort & Casino is a major upgrade from the tribe's old facility. The 78,000-square-foot complex features 300 slot machines, eight table games, a 60-seat bar and restaurant, a 24-seat snack bar, a 50-room hotel with a swimming pool, and an entertainment and conference center with a banquet capacity of 300 seats.

“There’s no comparison,” Jim Bard, the manager of of the gift shop and 47-slip marina, told The Duluth News Tribune.

Visits and revenues to the casino are up and occupancy of the hotel has reached 70 percent, the general manager said. The tribe hired over 100 new employees and plans to hire even more when the casino goes to a 24-hour schedule.
