Chippewa Cree Tribe still working on bringing hotel to casino

The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana is still hoping to add a hotel to the Northern Winz Casino.

Earlier this year, the tribe announced plans for an $11 million, 80-room hotel. But obtaining financing has been difficult so the project will be done in phases.

"The economy in the United States is not very strong right now, so getting funding for anything has been a real challenge," general manager Mike Devaney told KRTV.

For now, the tribe has added three trailers that guests can rent and more are on the way. The hotel will eventually be added to the facility, with work slated to begin next year.
