The Mohegan Tribe has been talking with Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy (D) about Internet gaming.
Chairman Bruce “Two Dogs” Bozsum has testified before Congress about his tribe's intent to enter the online gaming industry. He believes a new agreement will be required with the state and Malloy said he is open to the idea.
"Everything has to be on the table,'' Malloy told Rick Green of The Hartford Courant.
The tribal-state compact promises the Mohegan Tribe and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation exclusivity for Class III games. In exchange, the tribes share 25 percent of their slot machine revenues.
“We believe that any new law that would allow internet gambling here would require a separate agreement with the state, and for that reason, I have been in discussions with the Governor’s office,” Bozsum said in a statement, according to news reports.
