Column: Non-Indian gaming industry begins push in New York

"It’s up and running — again. Just days after Gov. Andrew Cuomo urged an amendment to the state Constitution to legalize casino gambling, an extensive advertising campaign was launched to achieve that goal.

If you’re impressed by the initial hard-sell New York State Gaming Association ad, you’re undoubtedly excited that it’s touted as securing $3 billion (in revenue lost to other sites), 25,000 new jobs and economic benefits flowing across the Empire State.

Don’t bet on that.
