Catawba Nation delays plans for casino on the reservation

The Catawba Nation of South Carolina is delaying plans for a casino on its reservation, The Rock Hill Herald reports.

The tribe said it was ready to open a gaming facility as early as this week. But the tribe has decided to wait until a judge rules on its lawsuit.

Details about the casino are scarce. But the tribe believes it's entitled to the same type of gaming allowed in the state -- casino boats were recently legalized.
