Hearing planned on regulation of tribal casinos in Minnesota

Minnesota lawmakers are planning hearings to discuss the state's regulation of tribal casinos.

The state's Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement division confirmed that it hasn't performed inspections at some of the largest casinos in years. Lawmakers say they are worried about the lack of enforcement.

It's easy to say you're doing a wonderful job when no one bothers to check your work," Rep. Steve Drazkowski (R) told The Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Tribes say their facilities are well regulated -- by their own governments, the state and by the federal government.
