City urged to provide services to Kialegee Tribal Town casino

The city of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, is being urged to provide services to the Kialegee Tribal Town's casino.

City Manager David Wooden says the city lacks jurisdiction over the gaming site. But he said the city can have a say in the process by entering into a contract with the tribe for water, infrastructure and other services.

The tribe plans to open the Red Clay Casino this spring in a temporary facility. Opponents say the mobile buildings could be installed as early as this week.

The casino site is an Indian allotment owned by two members of the Muscogee Nation who are leasing it to the Kialegee Tribal Town.
