Connecticut tribes report decline in slot machine revenue

Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes saw a drop in their slot machine revenue for the month of March.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation saw a drop of 4.5 percent, compared to March 2011. The Mohegan Tribe saw a drop of 5.5 percent.

“March showed that the economy is still chugging along at the slow pace,” Mohegan Sun President and CEO Jeff Hartmann told The Norwich Bulletin.

Both tribes were hit hard by the national economic recession.
