Lawmakers to consider compact for Graton Rancheria casino

The California Senate Governmental Organization Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow on the Class III gaming compact for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria.

The tribe signed the deal with Gov. Jerry Brown (D) in late March. It authorizes a casino with up to 3,000 slot machines.

The tribe has been quiet about the exact details for the casino. Chairman Greg Sarris has refused to talk to the press.
