Jena Band plans to hire 270 people for Class II facility

The Jena Band of Choctaw Indians plans to employ 270 people at its Class II facility in Louisiana, Chief B. Cheryl Smith said.

The tribe broke ground on the casino last month. Construction has been slowed a bit by bad weather, Smith said, but a job fair will be held soon.

"People have been excited about the idea of the casino providing jobs for Grant Parish," Smith told The Alexandria Town Talk. "We will be looking to host a job fair for positions at the casino."

An opening date was not reported.
