California governor signs bill for Graton Rancheria gaming deal

California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) signed into law a bill that ratifies a Class III gaming compact for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria.

The signature was the last step in the process before the compact is sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the agency has 45 days to consider the deal.

Station Casinos, the tribe's partner, hopes to break ground this summer.
