Mohegan Tribe moves ahead with hotel at Pennsylvania casino

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is moving forward with plans for a hotel and convention center at its gaming facility in Pennsylvania.

The tribe is securing $45 million in financing for the project. An outside developer won't be part of the arrangement as previously expected.

"We decided it made more financial sense to do it ourselves and avoid the developer's fees," Bobby Soper, the president and chief executive officer of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, told The New London Day.

The facility features a racetrack and slot machines.
