Horse breeders welcome Shakopee Tribe's $75M deal with track

Horse breeders say a $75 million deal between the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and a non-Indian racetrack will help their industry.

The tribe is contributing to purses at Canterbury Park over the next 10 years. Breeders say that will increase prices for their horses.

"It saved the thoroughbred industry. It totally did," breeder Craig Bishop told The Rochester Post-Bulletin of the deal.
