Rep. Bono Mack doesn't see consensus on Internet gaming bills

A key lawmaker doesn't think Internet gaming bills will see action before the end of the 112th Congress.

Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-California) chairs the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade. She's held two hearings on Internet gaming but a spokesperson told The Palm Springs Desert Sun that there “no consensus for moving forward with online poker.”

Among other issues, Bono Mack is concerned about tribes. Her district includes several gaming facilities.

Tribal issues “have not been sufficiently addressed," the spokesperson said.
