Pauma Band spending $10M on first major renovations at casino

The Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians has started renovations at its casino in southern California.

The tribe is spending $10 million on the first major renovation project at Casino Pauma since the facility opened 11 years ago, The North County Times reported. The changes are expected to be complete by December 21.

"This remodel will significantly enhance what Casino Pauma is proud to be known for and that's comfortable, intimate and personable gaming entertainment," Kyle Gawthorp, the director of marketing, told the paper.

The tribe is adding new restaurants, a new interior, a new slot VIP area and a new entrance to the facility. The money comes from $66 million financing deal.
