Dry Creek Rancheria reaches a new deal for casino fire services

The Dry Creek Rancheria of California reached a new deal for fire services at its casino.

The tribe was considering its own fire department to handle calls at the River Rock Casino and on the reservation. But the tribe will continue to pay $336,000 a year to the Geyserville Fire District.

The deal includes the establishment of a new station at the casino. It will be staffed by one firefighter.

“If a brush fire occurs, if there’s an auto accident nearby or a patron is in medical need, it would be immediate,” Chairman Harvey Hopkins told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat.

Overall, the deal pays for four firefighters.
