Eastern Shawnee Tribe hosts grand opening for casino and hotel

The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma hosted a grand opening for its new casino and 117-room hotel.

The Indigo Sky Casino held a soft opening in September. The tribe says business has been great so far.

"Our purpose is to help everyone in this area and so we are not against any other casino, we believe that by adding the quality that we have it brings more people to the area and everybody will benefit from that," Chief Glenna Wallace told Fourstateshomepage.com.

The casino's name reflects the tribe's connection to Tecumseh, who was born on a starry night in 1768. The logo features a panther and a swan, two important Shawnee symbols.
